In honor of International Teddy Bear Day on October 27th, we will be hosting a teddy bear drive during the month of October for donations for bears with a special NICU song from MamaSingMySong. We were fortunate to be able to partner with Mama Sing My Song for the creation of the NICU song and purchased some bears to donate to the NICU with our first donation of Rae of Sunshine Admittance baskets. Our goal is to be able to donate enough bears with the NICU song to bless each family that goes through the NICU but we need your help to make that a possibility!

In honor of World Book Day on April 23rd, we will be hosting a book drive during the month of April. While interactions in the NICU can be restricted, reading books is one activity parents can do with their babies in the NICU. Books are one of the items we include in our donations to the NICU so we’d like to use the month of April as an opportunity to build that inventory. In addition to books for parents to read, we will also be requesting donations for recordable books. Recordable books are a unique option that allows for parents to record themselves reading the book so that it can be played for their baby while the parent is not able to be with the baby.

During the month of February, we will be hosting a preemie outfit drive to raise funds specifically to sponsor an outfit for a preemie in the NICU. Micropreemies in particular often do not wear clothes for the first couple months of life. Being able to wear an outfit is a big milestone but micropreemies are often too tiny to even fit into preemie clothes at that time. Blakely’s first outfits in the NICU were from The Preemie Store. Not only were they tiny enough to fit her, but they were also very accessible to accommodate various cords, IVs, etc.
